A flamenco evening with guest singer Leo Power , Rampli on guitar, dancer Victor Ramos “El Chuli” and Ilusion Flamenca’s school director Angela Alonso. The show will be followed by a “fin de fiesta” for guests to dance bulerias, rumbas and sevillanas to live music. It will be epic!
Leo Power is a flamenco singer from Cádiz, she lived in London 20 years ago and worked in Felipe de Algeciras’ flamenco dance company as singer and percussionist. Leo has collaborated with many flamenco artists from Andalucía based in London and around the UK. She has performed in theatres such as The Royal Albert Hall in London and festivals such as Glastonbury. She now lives in Cádiz, and travels regularly to England to perform, with her flamenco show and different projects including Cuban and African music fusion.
Francisco Jimenez Jimenez “Rampli” was born with “Duende”, in Chiclana de La Frontera (Cádiz). Through his guitar Francisco which he exudes his personality, rhythm and fury . Aged 15, he already accompanied some of the biggest names in Flamenco such as Rancapino, el Torta de Jerez, Gaspar de Utrera, Capullo de Jerez or Silverio Heredia.
Víctor Ramos Veredas, known as “El Chuli”, was born in Antequera (Andalusia) and is currently based in Barcelona. He trained as a classical pianist who also pursued studies in Philosophy, Choreography and Performance . Currently, Victor is studying dance at an advanced level at the Superior Dance Conservatory of Barcelona “Institut del Teatre”. Victor has displayed his talent as a dancer in renowned companies such as “Compañía de danza de Viviana Sanchez”,”Barcelona y Flamenco” production, gracing stages as Teatro Poliorama in Barcelona or as guess dancer with “Ainadamar Ópera” with the Welsh National Ópera. He has captivated audiences at various Flamenco tablao venues, including “Palacio del Flamenco” and “Tarantos”.
Angela Alonso founded Ilusión Flamenca School shortly after her arrival in London in 1998. She was born in Almeria, Andalucía, into a family where music and dance held a paramount position. Angela has been dancing flamenco since the age of four, flamenco has been her way of life. She currently directs the school teaching weekly classes and organises an array of flamenco related events in London and abroad.
